Embarking on the IELTS journey is both exciting and demanding, providing a pathway to higher education, career advancement, and immigration opportunities. From a young age, during my school days, I had a deep passion for speaking and envisioned myself on stage, sharing ideas and inspiring others. This became my dream. However, as the eldest child in my family, I felt the weight of my parents’ expectations. They dreamed of me becoming a doctor, a path they believed would ensure stability and success. Out of respect for their wishes, I set aside my speaking aspirations and enrolled in a medical program.
I started preparing for NEET, but unfortunately, I couldn’t achieve success, so I pursued a career in the laboratory. The years spent studying in the laboratory were both challenging and rewarding. I immersed myself in the world of anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, and patient care. After working hard, I became a certified and trained Laboratory Technician. While I excelled academically, I often felt a lingering emptiness, as if a vital part of my identity was missing. Although I knew I was pursuing a noble profession, my heart desired for the stage and the chance to communicate effectively.
After completing my medical degree, I began working in a hospital. While the experience was fulfilling, I found myself increasingly engaged in communication by giving presentations and health talks, where I realized how much I enjoyed sharing knowledge and connecting with others.
One day, I thought about improving my English proficiency, so I started looking for resources online. Suddenly, I saw an advertisement regarding the IELTS exam. I began exploring the IELTS format. As I researched more about the exam, I realized how significantly effective communication can influence both career advancement and personal development.
With each passing day, my interest in becoming an IELTS trainer blossomed. I started attending workshops, studying teaching methodologies, and practicing my public speaking skills. The more I learned, the more my passion grew. I realized that I could merge my love for communication with my desire to help others succeed.
To expand my knowledge, I went to the Institute of Innovative Future Steps in Dehradun to learn IELTS from Ravinder Virmani Sir. His help and support were essential in mastering the exam. After that, I decided to change my career path. I became a certified IELTS trainer and started teaching students who wanted to improve their English skills. This experience was life-changing. I enjoyed creating interesting lessons, adapting my teaching to each student’s needs, and seeing them grow in confidence.
Every class felt like a stage, and each student was a potential speaker. I loved seeing them conquer their fears, share their stories, and express themselves more clearly. My journey from wanting to be a speaker to becoming a medical professional and then an IELTS trainer showed me that it’s never too late to follow your passions.
Today, I feel proud to be not just a trainer but also a mentor, helping students achieve their dreams. My story shows that with determination and courage, we can change our paths and follow the passions that truly matter to us.
